Dark Chocolate Avocado Cake with Chocolate Avocado frosting

Healthy eating doesn’t mean you have to deprive yourself with desserts.
When I first saw this recipe …I fell in love right away! A love at first sight! lol I mean my favorite chocolate cake with avocado? Who would have thought they can go together?
Avocado is very rich and creamy and very versatile. But i didnt know that it can be use as a substitute for butter or oil for baked goodies.

Anyway, so I told myself that I should try it! I was right! It taste heavenly. Eating delicious cake without that guilty feeling.

It’s moist! And everybody just liked it!

So here is the recipe of a delicious Guilt-Free dessert. Plus it’s VEGAN. It’s rich, moist and decadent. This already captured my heart and becomes my favorite vegan cake ever!

Dark Chocolate Avocado Cake with Chocolate Avocado frosting!
For the cake:
3 cup all-purpose flour
6 tablespoon dark cocoa powder
2 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
¼ cup vegetable oil
1 ripe avocado, mashed until very smooth
2 cups water
2 tablespoon white vinegar
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups granulated brown sugar

2 large ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
2 cups powdered sugar
4 Tbsp. Dark cocoa powder

For the cake:
Preheat oven to 350.
Grease and line your 8″ pan
In a large mixing bowl, sift and whisk together the all the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt). Set aside.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, avocado, water, vinegar, sugar and vanilla. Whisk until well combined.
Add the wet mixture to the flour mixture all at once. Beat until smooth ( by hand).
Pour batter into a prepared pan.

Bake for 45 to 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Let cake cool in pan for 15 – 20 minutes on a cooling rack. Turn cake out onto cooling rack to cool completely before frosting.

For frosting:
Mash avocados with fork until smooth like a paste.
Add cocoa powder to pureed avocados. Beat with hand mixer until well combined. Add confectioner’s sugar beat until creamy and combined.
Pour it over your cooled cake.
And enjoy eating healthy and guilt free dessert! 😉
