Every year since I started baking in 2013, I make myself a birthday cake. No that is not sad. I have absolutely no problem with this as I love baking and decorating cakes.
Sometimes I wonder how I do all the cakes by myself. When I look at all the cakes and everything I have created I feel immensely proud that I have made each and every cake with my own hands.
I’ve been thinking about how lucky I am to do what I love.
Passion makes it all worth it, all of the hard work, all of the sleepless nights, the cake wrecks, ganache nightmares and the stress.
I make everyones else’s cake the way they want it so why wouldn’t I do my own as well?
Somebody says that “the act of eating a birthday cake is a much more satisfying and enjoyable moment if you made the cake yourself.”
Cause if you make your own birthday cake, you are allowed to make it as weird as you want.
Whatever you put on it. It’s your cake, and you can do what you want.
In fact I have all the creative license in making my own cake and it’s limitless!
My birth date is March 18. As I celebrate my birthday this 2017, also marks my 4th year of baking and as a cake decorator.
